Powers and Duties
The Faculty of Agro-Industry, Chiang Mai University, is a higher education academic institution responsible for providing tertiary education with a focus on academic excellence in agro-industry in accordance with international standards. The Faculty produces research outputs and transfers agro-industrial technologies to enhance the quality of life of the public, as well as to support the economic and social development of the country. It also provides academic services to society to meet the needs of agro-industrial development in Northern Thailand and the nation. In addition, the Faculty preserves and promotes arts and culture, and supports environmental conservation.
The Faculty operates under the authority and responsibilities stipulated in Section 15 of the Chiang Mai University Act B.E. 2551 (2008), including the authority to enter into legal transactions, hold ownership and possession of intellectual property, receive funds or assets donated by others, collaborate with organizations both domestically and internationally, and manage, maintain, utilize, and derive benefits from the University's assets.
