The event was presided over by Dr. Wiparat Dee-ong, Executive Director of the National Research Council of Thailand (NRCT), under the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research, and Innovation (MHESI), who also served as a key witness to the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signing ceremony between local agencies in Chiang Mai and Lamphun provinces.

The MoU aims to translate scientific research and innovation into concrete solutions for pressing environmental challenges—particularly in addressing PM2.5 air pollution and establishing a shared national goal for a PM2.5-safe Thailand, with special focus on eight northern provinces affected annually by air pollution.
Additionally, the MoU outlines collaborative approaches toward sustainable water management—ensuring water security, flood prevention, and drought mitigation across ten provinces.
The event featured panel discussions on air quality and water resource management, as well as an exhibition showcasing research outputs, innovations, tools, and technologies from various participating organizations.
