ThaiBrit FoodBridge: Collaboration between Thailand and UK Sensory and Consumer Science Network for Sustainable Agri-Food Supply
Study Visit and Knowledge Exchange in the UK
From 15–25 August 2025, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Niramon Utama-ang, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Agro-Industry and Head of the ThaiBrit FoodBridge project, together with Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sujinda Sriwattana, Dr. Ponjan Walter, and Dr. Kanjana Singh, represented Chiang Mai University on a study visit to strengthen collaboration with partners in the United Kingdom aimed at advancing academic and industry collaboration. .
The program featured high-level meetings and facility visits at Harper Adams University (HAU) and Harper Food Innovation (HFI), along with site visits to leading food and agriculture enterprises including Pickstock Telford Ltd (British Beef), PDM Chadwell Park Farm, B-Fresh, Laura Delicious Dairy, Ludlow Farmshop & Distillery, and participation in the Ludlow Food Tour, which provided valuable insights into the local food system.
The visit concluded with a knowledge exchange session at SAM Sensory Dimensions, Nottingham, focusing on sensory and consumer science research, and fostering discussions on future operational collaboration.
This visit aimed to strengthen academic and industrial networks between Thailand and the UK, laying the groundwork for sustainable, long-term partnerships.
