Expanding Horizons Toward Careers in Food and Technology Students from Chiang Mai Vocational College Visit the Faculty of Agro-Industry, Chiang Mai University
The Faculty of Agro-Industry, Chiang Mai University, welcomed 91 first-year vocational certificate (Vocational Certificate Level 1) students majoring in Food and Nutrition from Chiang Mai Vocational College, who visited the faculty to gain inspiration, broaden their perspectives, and experience real-world learning in food science and processing.
Associate Professor Dr. Niramon Utama-ang, Associate Dean of the Faculty of Agro-Industry, graciously welcomed the teachers and students, expressing her pleasure in having the opportunity to host young learners who are passionate about the field of food—a discipline that plays a crucial role in today’s agricultural and food industries. Following the welcoming session, Dr. Pipat Tangjaidee, a faculty member in the Division of Food Science and Technology, delivered an introductory lecture on Basic Food Chemistry, providing the students with fundamental knowledge of food components and their transformations. He also led the group on a tour of the department’s laboratories and the faculty’s pilot plant, which serves as a key facility for hands-on learning and practical experience.
The study visit offered the students a firsthand experience of university-level learning environments, allowed them to explore potential career paths in food and nutrition, and inspired them to further develop their skills and expand their knowledge for future opportunities.
