Researchers from CMU’s Faculty of Agro-Industry Awarded Toray Science Foundation Research Grants
The Faculty of Agro-Industry, Chiang Mai University, proudly congratulates Assoc. Prof. Kittisak Jantanasakulwong, Ph.D. and Dr. Jutamas Tuntala, researchers from the Center of Excellence in Agro Bio Circular Green Industry (CoE Agro BCG) under the Smart and Sustainable Packaging Laboratory, for receiving research grants in the field of Agricultural Science and Biology from the Toray Science Foundation Thailand.
The grants support research projects focusing on the utilization of agricultural resources and natural rubber to promote sustainable scientific and technological innovation. This year, a total of 286 research proposals were submitted nationwide, with only 20 projects selected for funding.
The awarded research projects include:
“Development of Antimicrobial Biohydrogel Wound Dressing from Carboxymethyl Cellulose Derived from Oil Palm Residues Combined with Natural Rubber Using Cold Plasma Technology”
by Dr. Jutamas Tuntala“Development of Innovative Biomaterials from Cassava and Natural Rubber Using Plasma Technology for Driving the BCG Economy”
by Associate Professor Dr. Kittisak Jantanasakulwong
This achievement highlights the strong research capability of the Faculty of Agro-Industry at Chiang Mai University in developing innovations that add value to Thailand’s agricultural resources while supporting the country’s Bio-Circular-Green (BCG) Economy development.
