Chiang Mai University Executives Conduct Academic Service Visit at Neranda Food Company, Indonesia
A delegation from Chiang Mai University, led by Professor of Practice Dr. Charin Techapun, Vice President, together with Associate Professor Dr. Yuthana Phimolsiripol, Dean of the Faculty of Agro-Industry, Chiang Mai University, and Assistant Professor Dr. Pavalee Chompoorat Tridtitanakiat, Assistant Dean, conducted a community service and academic outreach visit to Neranda Food Company in Brau Village, Indonesia.
The visit aimed to strengthen collaboration between universities, industry, and local communities in promoting sustainable development within the agro-industry sector. The delegation was warmly welcomed by Mr. M. Munir, Leader of Neranda Food Company, who works closely with Universitas Brawijaya.
During the visit, a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) was organized with local stakeholders to explore challenges and opportunities related to food safety and value-added food innovation among SMEs and community enterprises in Indonesia. The discussion provided a platform for knowledge exchange and collaborative problem-solving among universities, SMEs, and local communities.
The activity also aimed to identify practical solutions and potential collaborations, particularly in enhancing knowledge transfer, technological support, and sustainable food innovation within the agro-industry sector.
This activity was conducted under the project “STI Coordination for Food Safety and Product Innovation: Indonesia as an ASEAN Pilot,” supported by ASEAN University Network, AUN/SEED-Net, Japan-ASEAN Science, Technology and Innovation Platform (JASTIP), and Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).
