Participates in the Annual Rod Nam Dam Hua Ceremony 2026 for the University Council President, Former Presidents, and Senior Faculty Members
On Friday, 24 April 2026, Associate Professor Dr. Yuthana Phimolsiripol, Dean of the Faculty of Agro-Industry, together with the faculty’s executives, staff members, and personnel, participated in the Annual Rod Nam Dam Hua Ceremony 2026 for the President of the University Council, former university presidents, and senior faculty members of Chiang Mai University at the Chiang Mai University Convention Hall.
The event was organized to provide an opportunity for faculty members, staff, current students, and alumni to preserve and continue the valuable Lanna cultural traditions and customs, while also expressing respect, gratitude, and seeking blessings from senior members of the university community during the traditional Lanna New Year celebration.
During the ceremony, processions from all faculties and departments entered the venue in a colorful and graceful parade, accompanied by traditional northern Thai music and elegant Fingernail Dance performances by the Lanna Folk Club and university personnel, creating a warm and festive atmosphere.
The event also featured award presentations for the Dam Hua procession contest, traditional Lanna costume competition, and the lively local Larb cooking contest, adding joy and cultural vibrancy to the celebration.
In the formal ceremony, Professor Dr. Pongruk Sribanditmongkol, President of Chiang Mai University, delivered a respectful New Year blessing speech and presented traditional Dam Hua offerings and souvenirs to former university presidents and senior faculty members. Participants also received blessings from Professor Emeritus Dr. Surakiart Sathirathai, President of the Chiang Mai University Council, bringing encouragement and auspicious wishes to all attendees.
The participation of the Faculty of Agro-Industry in this meaningful event reflected its commitment to preserving Lanna heritage and strengthening the warm and respectful relationships among all generations within the Chiang Mai University community.
