Our History & Legacy
Faculty of Agro-Industry, Chiang Mai University
Dedicated to producing high-quality graduates with social responsibility and excellence in research on a global scale.
🏛️ Foundation
Established on December 18, 1992, as the 13th Faculty of Chiang Mai University.
Currently led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Yuthana Phimolsiripol (Dean).
📍 Current Location
Since 1999, relocated to Mae Hia Agricultural Research Center, Chiang Mai.
Agro-Industry is designated as a "Critical Field" by the Cabinet for national development.
Key Milestones
1972
Began as the Department of Food Science and Technology under the Faculty of Agriculture.
1992
Officially established as the **Faculty of Agro-Industry** (December 18).
1994 - 2006
Rapid expansion: Launched Biotechnology, Food Engineering, Product Development, Packaging Technology, and Marine Product programs.
2015 - 2022
Internationalization: Launched International Programs for B.Sc., M.Sc., and Ph.D. in Food Science and Technology.
2024 (Present)
Strategic Restructuring: Integration of the Food Innovation and Packaging Center (FIN) and the College of Maritime Management into the Faculty.
