📢 The Faculty of Agro-Industry (Samut Sakhon), Chiang Mai University Organizes a Project to Upgrade Laboratories to International Standards
🗓️ Tuesday, June 30, 2026 – The Faculty of Agro-Industry (Samut Sakhon), Chiang Mai University, launched "The Project on Upgrading Laboratories to International Safety and Standards, Fiscal Year 2026 (Samut Sakhon)." The initiative aims to enhance students' knowledge, understanding, and safety skills regarding laboratory operations before they begin hands-on practical work.
The project features both theoretical and practical training sessions for students, covering essential topics including:
🔹 Correct and safe utilization of laboratory facilities 🔹 Proper operation of laboratory equipment, instruments, and glassware 🔹 Decontamination and biological contamination control 🔹 Emergency response and management of biological spills 🔹 Safe chemical management, including reading labels and Safety Data Sheets (SDS), as well as chemical classification 🔹 Segregation and disposal of laboratory waste in accordance with safety and eco-friendly standards 🔹 Correct usage of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and compliance with laboratory safety regulations 🔹 Utilization of the laboratory's online system for equipment booking, data logging, and laboratory resource management
This project is designed to elevate laboratory safety standards, foster a robust safety culture among students, and empower them to conduct scientific activities accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with globally recognized laboratory standards. Ultimately, these efforts will mitigate accident risks and foster a sustainably safe learning environment.
