Strengthening Academic Partnerships with University of Surabaya, Indonesia
Associate Professor Dr. Yuthana Phimolsiripol, Dean of the Faculty of Agro-Industry, Chiang Mai University, together with faculty members and staff, warmly welcomed Prof. apt. Tjie Kok, S.Si., M.Si., Ph.D., Head of the Center of Excellence for Food Products and Health Supplements for Degenerative Conditions, University of Surabaya, Indonesia, during his visit to the Faculty of Agro-Industry, Chiang Mai University on 15 June 2026.
The visit was organized to strengthen academic relations and explore opportunities for future collaboration between the two institutions. Discussions focused on potential academic and research partnerships, the implementation of collaborative activities, and the signing of Implementation Agreement(s) to support future joint initiatives.
As part of the visit, Prof. Dr. Tjie Kok was given a tour of the Faculty’s research facilities and laboratories, including the Sensory Evaluation Laboratory, the Food Innovation and Packaging Center (FIN), and the Black Soldier Fly (BSF) Pilot Rearing Facility. The visit provided valuable insights into the Faculty’s research capabilities, innovation infrastructure, and ongoing activities in food science, technology, and sustainable agro-industrial development.
