เมื่อวันที่ 21 พฤษภาคม 2568 มหาวิทยาลัยเชียงใหม่ ให้การต้อนรับ พลเอก กัมปนาท รุดดิษฐ์ องคมนตรี และประธานกรรมการบริหารมูลนิธิโครงการหลวง ในโอกาสเยี่ยมชมมหาวิทยาลัยและหารือแนวทางความร่วมมือทางวิชาการระหว่างมหาวิทยาลัยเชียงใหม่กับมูลนิธิโครงการหลวง ณ ห้องประชุมพระยาศรีวิสารวาจา สำนักงานมหาวิทยาลัย

รองศาสตราจารย์ ดร.ยุทธนา พิมลศิริผล คณบดีคณะอุตสาหกรรมเกษตร พร้อมด้วยคณะผู้บริหาร ให้การต้อนรับและนำเสนอข้อมูลความร่วมมือระหว่างคณะฯ กับมูลนิธิโครงการหลวง ซึ่งมีความร่วมมือมาอย่างต่อเนื่องตั้งแต่สมัยเป็นภาควิชาวิทยาศาสตร์และเทคโนโลยีการอาหาร โดยมี ศาสตราจารย์ ดร.ไพโรจน์ วิริยจารี เป็นหัวหน้าโครงการวิจัยหลัก

ระหว่างปี 2564 – 2566 คณะฯ ได้ดำเนินโครงการวิจัยร่วมกับมูลนิธิโครงการหลวงจำนวน 21 โครงการ วงเงินรวม 4.7 ล้านบาท ครอบคลุมด้านผลิตภัณฑ์อาหารเพื่อสุขภาพ เครื่องดื่มจากพืช การแปรรูปผลไม้ สมุนไพร และอาหารพร้อมบริโภค

คณะอุตสาหกรรมเกษตรยังมีความพร้อมด้านโครงสร้างพื้นฐาน อาทิ ห้องปฏิบัติการทันสมัย โรงงานต้นแบบ และศูนย์ความเป็นเลิศอุตสาหกรรมเกษตร BCG สนับสนุนงานวิจัยและบริการวิชาการ ต่อยอดความร่วมมือกับมูลนิธิโครงการหลวงในด้านการแปรรูปอาหาร บรรจุภัณฑ์ การใช้ทรัพยากรอย่างยั่งยืน และการพัฒนาผลิตภัณฑ์มูลค่าสูงจากพืชไทย

On May 21, 2025, Chiang Mai University (CMU) welcomed General Kampanat Ruddit, Privy Councillor and Chairman of the Royal Project Foundation Executive Board, on the occasion of his visit to discuss academic collaboration between CMU and the Royal Project Foundation.

Associate Professor Dr. Yuttana Phimolsiripol, Dean of the Faculty of Agro-Industry, along with the faculty's executive team, warmly welcomed the delegation and presented an overview of the long-standing collaboration between the Faculty and the Royal Project Foundation. The partnership dates back to when the Faculty was originally the Department of Food Science and Technology under the Faculty of Agriculture, led by Professor Dr. Pairoj Viriyajaree as the principal investigator.

From 2021 to 2023, the Faculty conducted 21 joint research projects with the Royal Project Foundation, with a total budget of 4.7 million baht. The projects span several areas including health and functional food products, plant-based beverages, fruit processing, herbal and specialty crops, and ready-to-eat snacks.

With advance laboratories, pilot plants, and strong academic expertise, the Faculty is well-positioned to support research, innovation, and knowledge transfer. Key research focuses include food processing optimization, packaging, agro-industrial entrepreneurship, bioprocessing of agricultural waste, and the development of high-value products from Thai rice and plants. The Faculty also houses the Agro-Industry BCG Center of Excellence to drive sustainable development.
